Inc. is shining a light on Mezmo as one of the fastest growing companies in the nation. We are truly honored to be featured alongside innovative brands like Sentry and Calendly, who are building the future of tech. Our position on the list at number 695 reflects our 900% growth in revenue and 300% growth in the size of our team from 2018 to 2021. We’ve added industry leaders to Mezmo from companies like Netflix, New Relic, and Reltio, who are core to helping us maintain this pace of growth as we enter the next phase of observability. The market is clearly hungry for it.

Facing the observability challenge head on

According to Gartner’s latest Hype Cycle for Monitoring, Observability and Cloud Operations, observability is on the decline from the peak of inflated expectations. This doesn’t shock us, or anyone else who’s watched the observability market explode over the last five years. For a while, a week didn’t pass without a new kid on the block announcing a few hundred million dollars raised, or an incumbent adding a feature to their platform to keep customers locked in. Those that fundraised at huge valuations need to buckle down and grow into them. And, the big public companies have to answer to customers who are no longer willing to pay to store massive amounts of data without getting the equivalent value in return.

According to research by The Harris Poll, the more that companies spend on their observability solutions the less satisfied they are, with more than 60% of respondents spending over $300,000 annually wishing they could use different solutions. Which is why it’s no surprise that in a recent report by Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) and Mezmo, a whopping 98% of respondents said they will likely investigate a managed observability solution in the next year.

    The next phase of observability

Like the adoption of preceding technologies (think cloud), organizations are at different stages of maturity when it comes to observability. Some are focused on logging and monitoring individual systems and applications, which can be done with point solutions or open source software. More mature organizations have a company-wide recognition of observability needs and use enterprise-grade solutions to leverage data across multiple teams. They choose tools like Mezmo that help them aggregate data from multiple sources, process it, and control how it’s used and stored.

At Mezmo, we’re working on solving the problems that these organizations will face as they enter the next phase of observability. As noted in Gartner’s Hype Cycle and the research from The Harris Poll, mature companies want more from their observability investments. They need real-time insights that can help them resolve issues faster and deliver better products. We’ve already started providing these insights with features like Kubernetes Enrichment and the Mezmo Exporter for OpenTelemetry, which enrich log data with additional context. Our goal is to help organizations proactively identify patterns before they become security issues or customer impacting events.

Being recognized by Inc. as one of the fastest growing companies in the nation is a testament to this and we’re excited to charge forward as the leading observability innovator. If you’re one of the 98% looking for a better observability solution, get a custom demo of the Mezmo platform.
